Professional bodybuilding about money, there's no money in bodybuilding, nearly every pro except for the top 5 or so would earn most of their income personal training or selling drugs, or could earn more money working some regular job. The pro lifestyle is a temporary leased lifestyle illusion of wealth created by magazines, the sport doesn't set most up for life, it leaves most broke dead or with health issues as they get older. Pro bodybuilding, spending 10 to 20 k on drugs to win $15k before tax at some bodybuilding event and you cant even get your drugs written off as expenses come tax time, pro bodybuilding and the associated expensive drug abuse is ridiculous, no brainer that there isn't to many graduates up there, you would have to be very limited in your options or completely self obsessed like many are to consider it.
Oh... so I guess promoters are doing shows as charity then?
BBing magazine are free? I can just pick them up on my way out of the super market?
protein powders are free?
last I recall, I had to PAY to sit in the audience at NPC and IFBB shows.
there's money in bbing, just not as a competetior.
why the fuck would I, as a promoter, direct the judges to PUNNISH the look that 95% of the audience CAME TO SEE.
Average guys who look like they workout DON'T SELL TICKETS. the FREAKS do... and ALWAYS HAVE.
you think Arnold wasn't considered a FREAK in his day? or Sergio? or Haney?
There was a time when 240 was huge... now, 240 is almost average in the gym for guys who don't even care to compete.
