Anderson say's "no" when Rogan asked about him wanting an immediate rematch, so it should be Chris Weidman vs Vitor Belfort next...

In boxing you NEVER drop your hands. I've said it before, ANYONE can lose if an opponent connects with a devastating shot to the chin.

That said, great night for the Renzo Gracie Academy. The two guys who had their camp at the academy came out on top.

He lost because he was careless ,cocky... it has nothing to do with father time or Weidman being a beast .

Overeem did the same bullshit and got what he deserved. A fight is a fight. Putting your hands down while a guy is running towards you hooking left and right is no way to show superiority. Weidman connected, dropped Silva and deserves the accolades for the win.

Just due to the mere fact that Weidman beat Silva at Silva's game (striking) is enough to earn him a lot of respect. Now, we will see if Weidman will make a good champion by defending his belt and staying undefeated long enough to garner a great legacy. He already has added his name in the history books by being the man that finally dropped Silva, so for that alone he will always have a legacy. Now is when his story as a champion truly begins. Now is when he can actually negotiate a real contract and not the scraps Dana gives out to the 3rd tier fighters.

If this is true and Silva gets a rematch, then his reign ends without one successful defense, so his legend is just a phantom ko.

He behaved that way in an attempt to bait Weidman into a stand up fight because he was getting tossed around on the ground.

I never met Silva, but even if I did, he wouldn't have cared to listen to me.

I've spoken to Chris a few times, wished him good luck a few weeks before the fight and that's that. I didn't think he was going to be able to pull this win, but for this great win, when I see him at Renzo's I will (like everyone else) congratulate him and wish him the best in his reign as champion.
