No actually, 2014 has been great so far.  My father and mother received a clean bill of health, I had an excellent annual review at my job, my annual bonus was higher than expected, my wife got a wonderful new job with great benefits (that surpass my companies....which were already good) and a 50% increase in annual pay.  The last of my sisters announced her engagement this year to a truly great man.  We're seeing the local economy firm up in our area which is creating job opportunities and job security.  My health continues to improve.  My daughter continues to grow and develop into a beautiful, sweet little girl.  We're paying our bills, saving money, tithing money in a greater fashion and still have left over for other giving and some entertainment also.  My faith is stronger than ever and I see the faith of those in my little family beginning to grow also.  All of my sisters are married or soon to be married to good, stable men.  My parents who endured a very difficult financial journey over the last few years are beginning to stablize.  My mom-in-laws work situaiton has improved drastically.  So far the year has been nothing but answered prayer and blessings (I could talk at length about this too...somethings we prayed about consistently for multiple years were answered exactly and then some).  It's not that stress is gone or that difficulties are gone, but how we perceive those situations has changed so dramatically and positively.  I thank the Lord every single day for his many, many blessings.

Glad to read this, we need more men like you MOS... if more paid attention to their financial affairs, family, kids and faith, this country would be a better place.

That being said, more bathtub would be dented by intensive one leg calf raises.

What context? Russia getting back former territories? Check
Dow topping 16,500? Check
Impending 100th anniversary world war 1? (lets all go to war again in celebration) Check
Because US&A is 100 trillion in debt and nobody gives a shxT? Check

Anabolichalo, I must state the following and hope you don't take offence and see the message I am trying to convey to you here:

There's no such thing as a bad year, your having a few shitty niggly issues...work on resolving them one by one. Sit down, write down in a piece of paper what issues you have in bullet points. Then next to each point write/brain storm what would need to fix them even if its not within your reach at the moment. Then sit back and resolve them the easiest and quickest first by setting realisitic targets, this will get the motions going and you'll feel like you're on the right track.

The probelm with us now, is that we think life is an entity that throws things at us, "Life is being cruel to me" this statement shouts its not my fault, its out of my hand, the truth of the matter is, a good life takes planning and effort, relationships  with friends and familiy and baby mam's need effort and planning to fix them and rebuild bridges, jobs, needs planning to be on the right path for a prosperous career it just doesn't happen by itself, same with health, a decent place to live in, less debt and more money left in your account....etc.

When you take responsibility over your own shit and put effort into planning and fixing things, then the year won't be so shit. And things going wrong is all part of the nature of it.

I lost my home, my car got written off by drunk gypsies in an accident and lost my job and messily broke up with a horrid ex all in one year (2006), I was left with some debts and the clothes I owned...bit by bit, I rebuilt my life and 6 months later I was renting a nice bachelor pad and smoking a cigar on the balcony browsing cars to buy when I can afford one, waiting for a hot girl to pop over to mine for a night in...now 2014 my life is 10 times better than before 2006 in many ways, this is no fluke....I put effort into every single aspect around me. Life isn't perfect, it shouldn't be and just like you I have my fair share of stresses and problems but overall, I got my shit together and really Im enjoying my life at the moment as much as I can.

Good luck
S

Mods take down his pictures.

And why do the mods take them down? Is there some doubt as to their provenance?

Not always.  I've been surprised many times... some are very perky.  It has a lot to do with how she takes care of herself and how many kids she's had.

I think you have nailed the keys to happiness and sucess:
1) Faith in Christ
2) Devotion to family
3) Bathtub calf raises

Yeah a woman has to at least appear as though she is capable of reproducing before she is attractive to me.
