sarcasm?

i am really bad at this ???

ya, but people always tell me (as they will soon in this post) that protein is useless and doesn't work.  then they ask me how I get so big. I tell them 5 lbs. of protein powder a week, and again they reply that your body can't use all that protein. ???

The main reason I use protein powders is because I've got a sweet tooth and would rather have a protein shake that's high in protein and low in calories than a chocolate bar that's low in protein and high in calories.  :D

Do these tubs contain as much protein as they say? I fucking well hope so.  ;D

I knew a guy who competed in the IFBB that said he never drinks them.  That the body is not designed to injest whey protein in such a pure form.  That you'll basically just shit it out.

Don't know how you can just go a day without food without suffering. I could only do that if really sick (like when I had pneumonia develop into my blood) or on certain drugs - ecstasy/mephedrone and the associated come downs.

Anyway, I trust that Optimum protein is real but I don't rely on it for growth, more so a quick and portable protein source when needed. Can get 20ml test for less than a 5lb tub of protein.

it's not that bad and the good part is you dont have to do anything like cooking, eating, cleaning, even less shitting

If I go much over 4 hours without a meal, barring stuffing my face with something very high in calories, I feel like I'll drop dead. Rumbling stomach, pains and can't think of anything but food.

I've always been this way. I still vividly remember when I was in Florida when I was 12 (1996) our rental car's engine went on fire on way to airport and I went 18 hours without food. I still remember every detail I was so hungry and had never had a gap without eating like that.

Sibutramine, ephedrine and other stimulants can curb my appetite but haven't touched them in years. Had viral pharyngitis last summer and even knocked out on valium I fitted in 3 meals a day out of hunger.

You think Phil Heath grew that meaty chest from protein powders? Fuck no. He wakes up everyday and coats his frying pan with non stick cooking spray, separates his yolks, and when hes done cooking he cleans his pan and gets ready for his next meal in 2hrs. Thats how champions are born, not from making shortcuts. Ask Phil Heath if he feels like a philippine houseboy and he'll say no #I'mMrOlympiaUHater.

Excellent perspective.... did you drink the protein powder all the way up to your show?  Did you have to work your way up to that amount?  Just didn't like cooking/eating?

Whey is the stuff they use to throw away when they were making cheese. Now they charge you $40 to $50 bucks for a tub of it in powder form. If you use two or three shakes a day it costs so much money. I'd rather eat a tin of tuna fish, cook some eggs or put a nice steak on the grill.

I wish guys would stop buying that crap because I have never heard so much farting in a gym in my life. Guys must go through rolls of toilet paper like crazy eating all that lactose and artificial sweetener. I also think it's a complete lie when I read on the tubs it's lactose free. If it's not enzyme treated milk it has lactose and a lot of it. There is no government regulation of the claims on supplements. None!

when I was younger, (1990-1991) I used only foods, as I was pretty stingy and protein powders weren't really developed yet. other than cassienate and albumin.
I never competed again until 1995, and by then I owned my gym, protiens had exploded on the market, and I was totally sick of cooking.

actually, my last couple competitions,  I pretty much had protein powders non stop all day, and then would eat a couple litres (quarts) of ice cream at night.  I force fed myself for decades, and now really don't enjoy eating whole foods any more.  not that I recommend eating nothing but protein powder, it was done out of laziness, (take that piana!! lol) and it seemed to work ok.

No protein supplements for me they are a total waste of money, go to the supermarket buy, beef, fish, chicken and milk, the supplements worth buying are fish oil, multi vitamin, creatine and a pre workout supplement to train hard.

If you're serious, I know a chap who runs a small chemical lab in southern India who will test 'protein powders' for $50 a pop.  ::)

Thanks for sharing, you're probably the most accomplished bodybuilder here so it's very cool to hear this stuff from the source.

I'll try adding more protein powder and see what it does for me.

Did you notice a difference in your physique from when you switched to powder from whole-food sources?
