please buy a steamer for perfect basmati rice, effortless, you can saute up some chopped vegetables and mix them in.  slice the chicken thin and mix it in too.  steam some broccoli for the side.

i make it with the steamer bro, maybe i use too much water

i leave it in the bucket and not put it in the fridge, it was in the steam bucket overnight and so became a block

yeah i would use less water.  typically for basmati ppl use 2 water : 1 rice, but i think that's too much.

makes sense that it was clumped up from resting tho, i thought you had just finished cooking it.

saute chopped garlic, onion, sun dried tomato for a couple of minutes.  add some extra oil, season (salt, pepper, crushed red pepper), throw rice in and break it apart with spoon. while it sizzles for another few min, slice up the chicken and throw it in.  mix, plate, chop some green onions on top.  delicious, and refrigerates well (grains wont clump up cause of the oil)!
