Why is that?

I heard theories that hardcore juicers, especially people who stay on GH for years end up growing their limps, making the muscle appear smaller.

What if someone juiced moderately, and took small amounts of GH or non at all, do you think weird muscle atrophy still occurs?

Take Gronik for example, the guy has classic jumbo sized Guido arms, and he's knocking on 50.

I suspect that thousands of site injects and shots in the delts have to kill off many nerves, resulting in less ability to fire the muscle?

seems like the triceps are always the first thing to go

Usually, it's the legs which are first to atrophy.

Big difference is that extention from a flexed position of the arm puts the tendon under friction, thus there is more stress on the tendon and the bursa.

But, my impression is that the biceps also show the same pattern as the triceps. It also looks like the muscle-bellies shorten with aging. Look at King Kamali for a very pronounced example.

NN
yeah I've wondered about that too.  Almost all older lifters have forearms that are about half the length as when they were young.  Its like fibers closest to the tendons have just died away.

this theory doesn't really take in account weight lifters since their arms get plenty of exercise from all angles. But it does make sense for the normal non lifter.
Prolly a combo of atrophy as we age and elbow problems preventing lifters to stress the triceps like wen they were young. Seems flexion of the arm is less prone to pain than extension.
Thots?
A lot of the older wt lifters can't train their long head bc they have bad shoulders which doesn't allow them to do over head extension movements.

Triceps often seem to go, Dave Draper ran into that. Quads?- probably if they cant squat heavy anymore.  I havent had either of these-yet, at over 50, but.. Injuries start happening, bouncing back is harder and slower, and Ibuprofin bill went way up. I give it til 60, then promised myself gym will be play time and not hard work all the time. Figure thats enough.
