Because doing something productive for their communities requires effort.  It doesn't take any effort to stand on a soap box and scream "White Devil" and moan about how the white man is keeping the black man down. 

Black people keep themselves down, the white man doesn't have to do anything.  Just ask your average "African American" where he came from in Africa and you'll get your answer.

Contrast that to asking your average Latino where his family comes from.

I find it funny that blacks are against the "stand your ground" laws.  They say it hurts blacks.  They they seem to be admitting that blacks are usually the assailants in these situations and not the victims trying to "stand their ground".  Interesting.

They are saying that the problem isn't that blacks attack innocent people, the problem is that those innocent people fight back and sometimes kill their attacker.  It's a fucked up world that we live in these days.  lol.
