Even you and your vivid imagination couldn't come up with a scenario where this is an acceptable defense.
I don't like stand your ground. I got my permit in 97 when the law was"DUTY TO RETREAT". Unless you had your back to a wall, you had an obligation to try to step back. I studied "Move shoot live" by lenny magill... great tactics video that I still own. The thought was that you never RAN into a gunfight. Do everything you can to avoid it.
THEN Jeb added "castle doctrine" to vehicles. A guy can climb in your car, lay down and beg, and you can still shoot in head, legally. Dont like but understand. Some dude reached in my car back in 2002 and I didn't shoot him. Legally, under castel doc, I could have... but I sure as shit didn't want to shoot someone unless absolutely necessary.
Anyway, it appeared here in 2005 and people love it - but there are some hotheads out there who will say "If he gets in my face, I'm standing my ground and shooting him" - which is HIGHLY irresponsible. People WANT to be able to kill - scary as shit. You have idiots that don't know the law, that run into what they think is a gunfight because "the law is on my side!"
They're unaware of the fcked up emotions and results of putting a bullet in someone. Grossly irresponsible. I think the law is going to be reduced - thanks to zimmerman and those who supported him.
