In one of those videos of Reza's squats the cameraman says it's his second set of squats in that workout so it must feel pretty light and easy for him. The difference between a secure, confident strong weightlifter and some schmuck who has too much to prove is stunning. Must...kill myself...for that 1 kilo record...in a non competition lift. Both of them, Mendes and Reza are cripples now but Reza was in a car accident and has 2 olympic gold medals. The superior athlete is the one who knows when to take it easy.
Why are the both cripples now? Just the heavy lifting tore their bodies up?
The way those guys bounce 300 kilos must chew their hip labrums to pieces.. No wonder mendes has a hip injury
there are no old great olympic lifters....joints are gone.
There are no great old Olympic sprinters. There are no great old NFL running backs. There are no great old marathoners winning races. Being the top of a real sport takes youth.
Ass to the ground. Looks like he had a few more in him. What would he have squatted if he had ended his career powerlifting?
after watching that cleani can say as an armchair expert and retired amateur lifterthat PAT IS DONE
I think he could put in a decent run, but I don't see high Olympic levels.
