Here's an idea. Instead of sounding like a carnival weight guesser (which seems like a pretty cool job) how about going to a submersion tank testing facility, spending $75 and two hours and get a valid BF percentage? Or you can just continue to lie to yourself and look like an idiot. Thanks idiots.

I wish I had a testing facility like that available. That or a DEXA machine test.
I don't know anyone who did either though, except for looking for eventual bone mass loss due to illness.

Jim Quinn said on the ESPN coverage that they did a skin fold measurement which showed 0.0% bodyfat on Flex Wheeler at the Gold's in Venice one week before the 93 Mr. Olympia. He also said Flex was the only bodybuilder to ever do that.

   Sir, I was there when it happened. Not in the actual room (the Intrafit office) but across the gym in the first room. I knew something had just happened, I just didn't know how important it was.

There is a pretty interesting thread over at BB.com, particularly when the guy posts what came out as just under 15% from a DEXA scan (THE RIGHT SIDE IS THE 14.8%)

A lot of people are going to hate this post because it blows their ideas of 15% out of the water

Just remember - this guy isn't particularly built so his 15% might not look like yours. 

I thought I was at 15% but I'm rethinking that logic now

I was at the OTC in Colorado Springs in late Oct 1989. Greg Lemond (he won the Tour de France three times) was there. He had just won the Mens Road cycling World Championship. Lemond was 5'9" 151 pounds. His face was gaunt and hollow. When he spoke the fibers in his face and jaw twitched and jumped. You could not count the veins in his arms and legs. His hands & fingers looked and felt like little copper twigs. The fat in his palm pads was gone.

He came out of the tank at 7.7 percent.

I remember a reading a quote by a pro bb that said no bodybuilder ever went below 6%.

I read enough threads from BB.com just then to be seriously doubting DEXA

a ripped bodybuilder can look smoother than the average muscular ripped person and still have less bodyfat% because of their large amount of lean bodymass(muscle).

to illustrate my point.

take a box that is 100*100*100mm of meat. now give it a surface that is 1mm of fat.

now take a box that is 150*150*150mm of meat and give it a surface of 1mm of fat also.

fat% of the 100mm box, about 6%

150mm box, about 4%

I would say the biggest most ripped bodybuilder on stage are closer to 1-2% for sure if their skin folds measure 1-2mm. so flex claim infamous 1% measurement probably isn't too far off really..
