Contest Prep Gurus -are they necessary?
« on: July 31, 2013, 02:27:55 AM »
The 'contest prep guru' is now a part of every modern day Pros arsenal..
Are they necessary?

Milos, is probably the best known prep guru of the modern era.

Do these gurus have a shelf life?

Att: Haters, Trolls and Gimmicks DON'T RESPOND !

You make me want to join Al-Qaida just so I could behead you. But you would probably survive.

I dont think prep gurus are a requirement, everything you need to know is available online in some form or another.
Milos never refered to himself as a guru and its disingenuous of you to keep refering to him as such without any evidence.

Shelf life?
What do you mean by that?

Do you want to discuss the topics in your thread or use it as a baseless attack on Milos?

You're trolling.
No not at all Im offering you the opportunity to give your opinions on the subjects you raised in the thread.
You can either do that or call me a troll, the choice is yours.
Refusal to enter into a debate that you started without offering your opinions will show clearly your reasons for being here.

The floor is yours.

i believe that it's up to each individual to find out what works best for them

basically you have to be your own scientist as Rick Wayne once said many years ago

It seems there was option three which was for you to ignore the thread and hope no one notices.

I don't think so, I think once these guys reach the mid and upper levels of competition, they probably have things well in hand. I do think the Guru serves as a reassuring and critical voice for the bodybuilder at a certain point. Someone to say "hey stupid don't do that, do this", "you need to do bring up xxxx....".

Also many of them serve as drug middlemen, etc....

I still don't see Milos referring to himself as a guru, care to point out the relevant section?

Look, even if I were getting ready for a show I would have someone train me as far as diet goes especially in the last week or two leading up to the show. I see all of these pseudo nutrition guru's on here giving advice with zero contest prep experience. The last week and days and the day of a show is where the real knowledge comes in. Even though I know what to do, i would rather hire a reputable trainer/contest prep person to tell me, I don't want to have to think, I would rather just eat what he told to and train.
