There are studies linking it to cancer. Used in males temporarily to increase fertility. While it definitely increases testosterone as "side" effect it has never been approved for this use in the US I believe. A doctor put me on Clomid and I went from 300 to 550 on my testosterone test. Another doctor told me about the cancer risk and said that doctor was wrong to put me on that indefinitely. Never studied for long term year in and out use.  There are studies linking it to cancer  in males when used short term for fertility treatment to increase sperm production.  Clomid works in the brain; in specific the pituitary  to increase luteinizing hormone. The first doctor a urologist was concerned with long term testosterone use increasing the size of the prostate and in particular changing the viscosity of blood making it a risk factor for heart attacks. I guess he wasn't concerned the risk factor for cancer. I don't use anything now.  Went to an endocrinologist and he said one of the best ways to increase testosterone is to get lean.
