I just got these , gay or not ?

GAY!Are you buying them for fashion or to run in them? Minimalist super light weight running shoes are great if you are a really efficient fast runner. For most joggers they are a terrible choice. They fall apart quickly. The heel is so low that land mid foot so that when running slow 8 minute miles you can strain your calf or Achilles. Mid foot or running on the ball of your foot is fine if you are 7 minute or faster runner but for a jogger it's tough to do. This light weigh minimalist running shoes also do nothing for over pronation that can quickly lead to injuries. If you're light and fast using these "slippers" can lead to really fast times. If you're an average runner go with a more substantial running shoe. A 12 ounce running shoe is still super light in the scheme of things.
I have a pair of Vibram's Five Fingers KSO and a pair of Merrell's Pace Glove; both minimalist barefoot shoes with no drop. I wear them all the time, for weight lifting (Vibram), an occasional run, a walk in the park, shopping and anything else. I don't even own any 'normal' shoes anymore... And I must say, after about 3 years of intensive use, they finally show some slight wear and tear. They don't look so new anymore, but the shoes are still holding up.
My feet, ankles, knees, hips, back and neck have never felt better. So they do work for me (and I'm not very light, unfortunately).
