Essential jazz guitar songs for monster chest workouts
« on: August 11, 2013, 04:03:18 PM »
So I respect the opinions of getbiggers.  And I want to take my guitar playing past the standard rock songs - particularly looping some jazzy chords and playing leads over them.

Can anyone recommend a few songs that I should start learning??

I play bass because it's more practical... I can lock down the rhythm section, plug in any guitarist, and keep the entire band in the pocket.

But I also do the lead guitar thing, the solo/duo with looper, etc.   I usually pwn the guitarists I use in bands.  Keeps em humble, like pro bodybuilders.

and i want to expand my playing... just learn some new chords, some new scales.

Willow Weep For Me.

One of the greatest albums of all time.

Wes Montgomery.

I believe it won the Grammy in '69.
