Janis' legend will outlive Raquel's. The former is known to have an outstanding singing voice. The latter, she was pretty. There are tonnes of pretty chicks around.

Janis Joplin must have felt so insecure with Welch there. Janis had MAJOR self-esteem issues because of her looks. She always had it hard, she was voted "Ugliest Male on Campus" during her college years...ouch!

Notice Raquel's poise, speech pattern, and tone. You don't get that today. And contrast her look to Janis'---Janis has that stupid boa in her hair, her hair looks unwashed and stringy, and she is smoking that that cigarette looking thing.

Joplin and Raquel are the two extremes.  One of the greatest rhythm & blues/rock singer ever.  The other is a great beauty.

Raquel Welch was absolutely extraordinary. She WAS the uncontested sex symbol of that era. REAL boobs, narrow waist, beautiful hip structure, wide cheekbones, full lips, big eyes....


She was WAY beyond pretty. She was one of a kind.

Ideally women are supposed to have a pelvic structure that flares out a little even if they're very skinny.

Guys these days think Jessica Alba is curvy but those are the same guys that appreciate breast implants.  :P

Not to say that Alba isn't hot but look at Raquel for god's sake. ;D
