Isn't yo-yo-dieting better than no-no dieting?
« on: August 17, 2013, 10:42:00 PM »
It is said yo-yo-dieting is "dangerous". And that it is not good to jump on diet fads and that it might make you fatter than before etc.

Isn't it better than to never diet and keep the caloric surplus consistant ???

Seems like the permabulkers final excuse not to try anything new.

Jojo and KC's diet tends to include a lot of alcohol these days...a shadow of their former selves.

I really wanted to avoid saying Yo-Yo because it reminds me of ebonics too much. Was kinda planning on subtly changing it to jojo.

How about 'intermittent dieting'?

I diet basically all the time myself. But it's always a bulk diet interchanged with a cut diet in an endless loop :)
That's sort of a yo-yo diet if you just look at the scale. But not in the massmedial sense of the term.

Sounds better. But chances are I'd spell that wrong somehow too ;)

When I was a young lad, it was all about the mo-jo dieting.

Now that we've clear this up, yoyo dieting is does not bode well for most people. People who lose weight only to gain it back often gain more then they lost. The end result being that they are fatter and probably less healthy then when they started out.

Some bodybuilders actually maintain a decent weight off season, rather than letting themselves go only to diet down for the next competition. Personally, staying within a lower variance of weight change is likely much healthier for folks in the long run. Also, not all large people are unhealthy, nor slim people healthy.

how about ending the excuses for being a permafatso swine and change diet long term.

whenever i see a fatso i see my healthcare insurance bill go higher.

but its ok the more fat swines out there, the better.

they can hardly get women, and if, they can hardly have sex with them.

all good,win-win

Around 3 weeks ago. Funny how Gal has to keep reminding us of how much of a ladies man he is. Probably only gets meth heads and prostitutes.

He said be honest,  but I realize it's pointless to ask honesty for such a loaded question.

From a mutual friends party. I admit I have commitment issues. Girlfriends and wives are overrated. Odds are that they either cheat and/or take you for half.
