Sadly, I think you're going to see more injuries like this during the regular season. Defensive players are scared to hit high for fear of getting fined or suspended.

If I'm an NFL offensive player and I have the choice between getting hit in the head(I mean...I am wearing a helmet) or getting hit in the knees...I'm going to choose getting hit in the head.

Keller may never play again because of that hit. He tore all the major knee ligaments and dislocated his kneecap. Not to mention possible nerve damage.

These safety rules about hitting up high are getting ridiculous. It's football. It's a dangerous sport. That's why these athletes get paid vast sums of money...because of the risk.

Sucks for Dolphin fans! Keller was a good tight end and would have been one of Tannehills main targets! This is going to happen much more because of the fear of getting suspended and fined for shots above the shoulders!

I like you Arce, but sometimes I wonder if you're a retard.  How in the hell is that a dirty hit? 

They're not allowed to hit high, they're not allowed to hit hard, they're not allowed to do much of anything other than lead with the shoulder below the waist. 

I can guaran-fucking-tee you he'd rather have t-boned the receiver up high like a proper football hit should be...but he'd be fined and labeled a villain. 


They turned the game into basketball with helmets and forced patty-cake duck-roll hits like this.  No legitimate player wants to take out the legs like the 135lb cornerback in high school has to do.

I didn't see problem with that hit. It didn't look like he was intentionally trying to hurt him. Clean hit, bad angle. Probably might end his career though. Tore all of his CL's from what I understand. It's football. Goodell is already trying pussify the game. Expect more "strategic" hits and expect James Harrison to kill a few this year (the baddest man in football now that Lewis has retired)

I don't see a solution here.  They can't hit high, and guys are just too good to wrap up in the middle.  Ya gotta hit low.  This hit is beyond sick... haven't seen anything that reversed in years.

I think that they should put land mines randomly scattered across the field along with a 40 ft gator moat all around the stadium, the only access in and out being 1 inch plank board soaked in alcohol and lit on fire.

  There is a way to hit low though... with out going through the knee at 200mph

  he knew he destroyed dustin's right knee when he went through it

 and he saw the guy laying there with his leg twisted and writhing in pain

 yet he did not even call for help
