guy i know was a very wealthy guy who was close with him, he died a couple two years ago.....very wealthy fella...gave my uncle a bunch of watches. he knows absolutely nothing about watches...

I asked him if he had any watches I could have, and he pulls out a rolex

gonna take it to a pon shop to confirm it's real, I have a feeling it is

if the second hand does not turn smooth it is fake. if the second hand ticks ticks ticks it is fake.

fuck the pawn shop, go to a jeweler, pawn shop will tell you no it's not and then try to buy it from you for $20.

My grandfather gave me his rolex back when he had it in the 70's. I don't wear it, but it's cool to have.

Good knock offs run smooth now. Some knock offs are so good the only true way to tell is to open the back of the watch. hence the reason to go to an actual Rolex authorized shop to confirm.

The easiest way to tell is to take the casing apart and check the gearing. Knock offs will use powdered metal gears (compressed instead if forged). Rolex cuts all gears from a single billet block.

Take it apart and bend one of the gears. If it breaks, it's powdered metal. If it bends, you had yourself a Rolex.

You would be shocked at how good the replicas are getting even down to the movement.
There are some from China that have even fooled AD's (authorised dealers)

Where can you get these really good fakes. I honestly own an Omega Planet Ocean and I hate wearing it because it's constantly banging on things. Rather wear something I don't care about
