Is it effective, and to what degree?

Not worth it. Your hair will get hooked to it, and if you stop you'll lose it all.

I used it briefly, it's expensive and I saw no benefits and my hair loss isn't very bad anyway, so I gave it up.

From what I've seen reported, it seems like it works well for most people in slowing or halting hair loss.  Regrowing a substantial amount of lost hair sounds like it's pretty rare though.  Most guys look fine with short/buzzed hair if you're in shape so I don't really see the point.

That's exactly what happened to a friend of mine.  While he was using it, his hair looked like a dried up tumbleweed.

it'll give you this thing layer of fine, thin hairs. Nothing monster.  it'll all disappear in bright light.  BUt it does work a little.

Perhaps this is due to the mechanism of Rogaine reducing sebum levels on the scalp? Just dries it out...

Have you used it?

Are the hairs that "disappear in light" similar to what would be there without using Rogaine?
