One of the teens charged with beating to death a World War II veteran allegedly claimed he was buying crack cocaine from the 88-year-old and the transaction turned violent — but cops said there is no evidence to support that.

The allegation was denounced as bizarre by victim Delbert “Shorty” Belton’s family and even dismissed by the defense lawyer for the other teen accused in the Spokane, Wash., case, which has drawn national attention.

roosevelt, you are correct, the cases are not the same, particularly in regards to the arrest, I agree, but the massive media attention, protests and involvement from national leaders continued far after that and there was far more organized national outrage.  This case is worse, there is no dispute what happened...direct result of thug behavior and targeting an old frail white guy as easy prey.

The perpetrators have been apprehended and they will more than likely never see the light of the day, what exactly would you be marching for? The old man got justice already...

How is it not true? Zimmerman walked away from day one, these guys didn't. I sleep well, just like you do with your cognitive dissonance.

It was the racial component that made this situation the national spectacle it became.  A person is often not immediately arrested in cases of self defense, just as victims of other crimes aren't.   The whole situation was blown way out of proportion.

As I've clearly demonstrated, zimmermans aren't the problem in this country, it's more likely to be the trayvons who cause trouble.  So the next time a white lady clutches her purse or a white family lock their car doors when you walk by, instead of being offended at them, you should be upset at all the ghetto thugs who gave you that reputation.
