It's just that she was at the top of her game at one point in her life... so much potential to be the best.  Who knows what went wrong in her head.  No one deliberately fucks up their life on purpose.

TJ, I've done nothing. I suppose I could get in a plane and fly to Dallas and drive to the area where she seems to get arrested on occasion and try and find her.  That's really not that much effort to help someone... I really don't have a good excuse for doing nothing.
