Steiners Chest...
« on: August 31, 2013, 06:48:17 AM »
I always wondered what happened to Steiners chest. (separated pecs) then he tried to cover it with that horrible Tatt.
From WIKI:

On June 3, 2007, at a TNA house show in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rechsteiner was kicked in the throat by his opponent, Apolo. After he began coughing up blood, he was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a torn trachea and given five hours to live. He was put in an induced coma for two days, while doctors cut through his ribs and lung to repair the tear, then began draining fluid from his lungs (a process which lasted two weeks). Unable to fly (because the change in air pressure would have caused his lung to collapse), Rechsteiner eventually left Puerto Rico on a cruise ship and arrived in the United States one week later.[44]

Yep, read about that a while back. Something like that is terrible to have happen anywhere, but especially outside of North America.

Concerning Steiner chest.
He said in a interview a couple of years ago that he had a partial tear
That turned purple after doing some heavy weights for his chest workout.
He stated that he was told to have surgery to repair but instead opted for
massage therapy and medication. He continued to lift heavy and didn't listen to doctors
advice and it became worse.  He tried to repair it but they told him it was too late.

Strange, I wonder which story is Kayfabe, and which one is real?

I would suspect the more believable one is the real story.

I met Steiner a few times at Main Event Fitness in Marietta GA.  He was a pretty cool guy, although I can't imagine ever feeling totally comfortable around him.

I did legs downstairs there on Mondays.  He did too, and we were usually the only two down there.  I only acknowledged him the first time or two and I think he liked that.

About 3 til 9, he asked if I minded if he changed the channel.  Of course I said no and it was pretty cool to talk the business with him once he found out I was a fan.

I never had the nerve to tell him what a mark I was for Flair.

I found out what he drove (old Power Stroke that had seen it's better days)  A deputy friend of mine back home was the biggest Steiner mark in the world.  I called my buddy, told him a guy had hit me in a parking lot and could he run the tag for me.

Ten minutes later he calls me back, "you sorry M@#@$$$$$ S@#%$, how the heck did you get his tag number?"  I played dumb for a few minutes and then told him I had been working out with him.  WHOOO!!!!

Speaking of tag numbers, I can still remember Flair's tag number on his black Navigator as he and Windham left a house show around 96.  How cool is that?

Stoppa was at that one too.  He and Norman Smiley made friends.

Steiners chest was damaged long before 07, when he came back to WWE early 2000's his chest began to worsen. Bad tear gone horrifically out of control, used to say he could bench 675 lol.
