Trying to have a rational discussion about AAS with anybody
« on: September 06, 2013, 03:40:35 AM »
Is pretty much impossible. The media has planted the "PED == DEATH" meme so firmly, I can barely get a point in with libertarians, let alone our masses of low information voters.

The 2008 movie "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" is pretty good ammo to use with libertarians.

I had a surreal conversation with a very good friend. No stranger to the iron game, she felt completely consistent in saying that taking strong pain killers to mask the pain of an injury was A-OK, yet taking GH to speed healing was somehow immoral.

Strange.

Yep. And many of those same turds will be eating garbage all day, smokers, heavy drinkers, etc... and blowing up healthcare costs.

Strong painkillers better than gh? I'm honestly not surprised. Damn shame that we live in a society where heavy narcotics are more acceptable than hormones that allow you to better yourself.

She's no dummy either. Advanced degrees in engineering. I think it's because of her kids, both teenagers that are all-state athletes in everything they touch. Her boy is a beast and its gonna be an "issue" in a few years. I think she's sharpening her arguments on me  :-\

The shift in popular opinion regarding steroids these last 20 years is an example of how cognitive biases can reach epidemic proportions, quickly warping popular, government, and scientific opinion at all levels.

It needs to be a case study in some wider investigation of how mass opinion is shaped (manipulated?).

I don't think PEDS should be allowed in athletic competitions.  Recreational use-doesn't bother me.

I've come to learn that the public perceives PEDS in the same light as heroin. Can't even have a reasonable discussion with someone about it.

Great call.

I wrote something on BBing.com about Post-Cycle recovery drugs which went against Bro Science that i personally experienced (which GH15 stated many times as well) and i was attacked by them all saying i had no idea i would lose all my muscle etc. Fucking Monkeys repeating what they hear

It's really not much different than any other controversial topic with ignorant laypeople. Like discussing Trayvon & Zimmerman with coworkers would be a sure way ticket to a meeting with HR.

expain what it was about in detail.

i dont see how pct can make any difference in holding gains or not.

its just a matter of time depending on what was used and how much muscle was built before one turns into the former skinnyfat twink or what he was before.

I said i never used PCT drugs after cycling except the last time i came off. It made no difference to how i changed and i felt it only delayed the recovery process, as in you had to start from scratch to recover at some point.

They all said if you didn't take Nolvedex / HCG you would lose all the muscle gained. I have been clean over 10 years and i am far bigger than i was naturally and i was peaked as a natural.

ah yeah, that is how it is,you have seen the reality.

yeah some little bit gains are kept that go beyond what naturaly would have been possible, its weird, isnt it.
i mean some clear gains over natural "peak"

I agree, if i got much bigger i probably would have dropped some. But i dieted down to compete the last cycle so i know what muscle i had and i have not changed since. These guys believe anything, until you sit back and look at what happened on different things you don't know.
