You'd make a fair point if children were the issue. Or WMD, human rights, freedums, and such.
They've been marching armies around the Middle East for awhile now and feeding us one empty excuse after another for it. Right after 9/11 everyone bought it no problem (and somehow bought it 12 years prior). Woe betide the pariah who questioned it, but no one is buying it any more. But hey. Fuck you anyway. You un-American or something? What are you gonna do about it?
I seem to remember this 'guy' campaigning on ending ME wars, closing Guantanamo, etc. I'm starting to think just maybe it's possible he was fibbing the slightest tad. He's like Bush on juice with a deep tan. But it's not just Bush & Obama. The bullshit @ home & act abroad has payed dividends for a long time now. Earliest I can name is the Spanish-American War ("Remember The Maine") but there were probably precedents.
If they'd just level with us already, along the lines of: "Look. We need that oil. The world runs on the shit. Not just your car. Or energy. It's pretty much all manufacturing of anything. There's nothing it doesn't touch. And if we don't control it, someone else is going to. And then we're fucked. Really fucked. Like blood in the streets fucked - on a national level." I'd say ok. Go get it. I can see that. Resources are limited and they get fought over. Those who die procuring them will be saving many more (of ours) by their efforts.
But they don't say that. We get this tugging at heartstrings nonsense about children and downtrodden masses. As if there's none of that elsewhere. I don't know how these guys get on national TV and keep a straight face. Gimmie a break.
Well that's it. I'm fed up. Next time I'm voting for Puppet B! That'll change everything.
