I wonder how much money (or what kind of political barter) Japan paid to IOC for the right to host the OG, and jump in in front of Spain and Turkey.

Any getbiggers in Japan familiar with the theme?
What infrastructure Tokyo already have (stadiums, aeroports, roads, hotels) and what is planned to be built?
I thought Fukushima and the flood were a serious blow to the economy of Japan. Hosting the Games is kind of expensive.

Tokyo has the infrastructure already. They probably don't want too many additional bodies on the Yamanote line on a Friday night but they will be fine.

Of course, security is a different matter. They don't really have much crime in Tokyo and so aren't set up for a major event in that respect. Still, they will figure it out.
