2013 NFL Thread

Great Sunday.  The Packers spent the entire offseason figuring out how to stop the read-option.  Even sent coaches to go meet with former University of Hawaii defensive coordinator Dave Aranda (now the DC at the U. of Wisconsin).  Sent coaches to meet with other coaches who faced Kaepernick when he was at Nevada.  All in an attempt to stop the Niners from racking up over 300 yards rushing again.

So what does Harbaugh do?  Completely changes the game plan.  The Niners run for only 90, but pass for 400.  Great coach.

Boldin is a beast.  So is Vernon Davis.  When Crabtree comes back, that will be an even more potent offense.

Watched the fourth quarter of Seattle v. Carolina.  That little Russell Wilson looks like a better QB than that Paul Bunyan of a QB in Carolina.

Shitty sunday from a Giants perspective.  6 turnovers, and they still should have won.

Yup.

RG111 looked rusty from no preseason.

Shanahan made a mistake by not playing him at least a few series in preseason.  Was surprised to hear that was the first 2 INT game of his short career.  Not bad for a young QB.

That's outstanding, especially for a rookie.

RB: 49ers prepping for 'She-Hawks'
Updated: September 12, 2013
ESPN.com news services

San Francisco 49ers running back Anthony Dixon apparently isn't worried about tweeting bulletin board material for the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the teams' Sunday night showdown.

Dixon, a fourth-year player whose season high for carries is 70 as a rookie in 2010, posted his thoughts about the 49ers facing their NFC West rivals on his Twitter account Wednesday night.

He tweeted: "Extra weight on the racks all week getting less sleep preparing for these She-Hawks I love hostile environments Imma feel right at home..."

Dixon deleted the tweet Thursday morning, but not before it had been noticed and reported by several media outlets.

Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright, a college teammate of Dixon's at Mississippi State, responded to Dixon's tweet on Wednesday night. He also later deleted his tweet.

In a reply to Dixon, he wrote: "lol the she hawks!! I'll be sure relay the message to the fellas.. Its gone be a long night for you and the forty whiners."

The 49ers held off the Seahawks last season to win the NFC West title for the second straight year, but San Francisco was blown out the last time it played at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks blasted the 49ers 42-13 in that Dec. 23 game as Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes and Marshawn Lynch rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Dixon had just two carries for 8 yards in that game. He didn't have a carry in the 49ers' Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers but did have a 30-yard kickoff return.

This is the second straight week Dixon, 24, has made headlines. Last week he said he turned down a $24,000 offer from teammate Nnamdi Asomugha for his No. 24, which the veteran cornerback wanted to wear in his first season with the 49ers.

Oh I don't think he had anything to say.  lol  The Niners had more turnovers than points.   :o

Pete Carroll might have a little something in Seattle.  He won a ring as the Niners DC back in the 90s.

you can tell Carroll loves football....and you can see that his enthusiasm is rubbing off on to the players. Once they get Browner back...and Harvin comes back to help the receiving core..................

Reminds me of the dynasty teams of the early 2000's. The Giants look like a bag of smashed assholes.

Fear not though, the G-men started 0-2 in 2007.  :-*

Giants deserve to be 0-2.  Could be a bumpy year.
