I can see it now, his wife walks in on him taking pic in bathroom:

Ach:  it's not what you think, I'm having an affair and sending this pic to the other woman.

Ach's wife:  no you're not!  You're posting that on getbig for all the admiration of those homos. I thought I told you to stop this shit!

Ach:  :-[

That watch is ugly. Too gaudy. I hate things with gaudy appearances.

Seriously, getbiggers seem to have all the good taste of an International Male catalog

I used a G shock to wake myself up for work for 25 years. I use it every time I run or bike to time it. I use the count down timer to beep when 3 minutes is up when I hit the heavy bag.  I swim in the ocean with it and with a quick rinse in the sink it's perfect. I even dropped it out a second story window and when I went down it worked and looked perfect. The battery dies in about 5 years. To lazy to replace the battery. I just buy another one. Great watch. I have a dress watch but this is the watch I use.

You mean you used 5 G shocks to wake yourself up for work for 25 years.  That is, if you replace them every 5 years as you state.

That said, high end mechanical watches are really jewelry and status symbols these days.  A cheap Japanese or Korean watch costing less than $25 is more accurate than a Rolex Chronometer.

I can't find the exact Citizen eco drive watch but it's something like this. Under $400. Sometimes less is more.

When I first started buying them they were about $25 bucks in 1982 or so. Now they are over $100. I will replace the battery now if I had the new version. I go on ebay and find a brand new never used G shock from the past version I'm fond of.

there are 1000 clocks everywhere you go

they're uncomfortable

they're loved by tiny and weak men desperate to show off their wealth

Some guys like to wear fine clothes, shoes and yes fine watches. Some men dress like they want to get on the people of Walmart site. I wear a ratty tee shirt working out or washing the car. If I'm going to a restaurant or a meeting I'm dressing GQ like an esquire.

same here .. I could never spend a few grand on a useless thing. It is supposed to tell time and nowadays you are surrounded by watches plus your smartphone. Oh well, I guess it is a fashion thing. I do like certain watches style wise (Piaget).

I own two Invictas, this one in the original post and an all black diver and they both get way more attention than my Omega Seamaster or my Tag Heuer Indy 500

Yeah, but what kind of attention?   Folks may be gawking at your monumental bad taste.

You don't have to spend a ton of money to buy a nice looking watch.  Hell one of my favorite watches, was a $30 dollar no name military style.  It seriously looked like it was $600, people would stop me and ask about it.

yea, but a proper swiss watch isn't about getting attention. it's about understated quality and simplicity... and value. You spend $500 on an invicta, and sell it next year for $50... you spend $4k on a Panerai Luminor Marina and sell it next year for $4k... sell it 5yrs from now for $3500, sell it 10 yrs from now for $4500.

Omega's are probably the most undervalued watches available. If somebody is looking to get into swiss watches... QUALITY swiss watches.. you can can't go wrong with Omega. Esp the seamaster line.

I'd take a Tissot Automatic over an Invicta. They're in the same price range... for a lil more you can go with an Oris, which aren't as popular, but I really like them. My Uboat's are plenty big at 50mm, I can't imagine wearing an Invicta at 55mm +.

a watch is the only jewelry a man should wear (besides one of those shiney metal bands around a finger that signifies you gave your nutz to a woman.. ugh..)

Women look at 2 things on a man when they first meet (besides the face/body)... his watch, and his shoes. If you're not wearing a watch and wearing some Air Jordans, odd's are you're a boy in a man's body.

For a really nice automatic watch with a fine Swiss movement, I also have one of these:

It's the Marathon GSAR, an actual US issue for SAR teams.
