If you put the two side by side on stage, you'd see it was Gunter who would be doing the embarrassing...Gunter is over 300 pounds at 6'2. Arnold at 6'1 was 240, and not nearly as dry as Gunter.

Exactly.  It's shocking to me that people on here honestly think Arnold would stand a chance in modern day competition.  He may be a better spokesman for the sport and have more charisma, but by no means would he stand a chance in modern pro bodybuilding competition.

Sorry guys but Arnold is so far from Gunter it's not even comparible. It's just the pictures.  Gunter blocks out the sun and his delts are probably 2x the size Arnold's were.  That's how it's supposed to be, Arnold was a competitor in the '70s, no one expects him to still be better.  With the exception of Greg Kovacs in '96, I've never seen anyone bigger than Gunter, he's literally gigantic.

Arnold, never had a "super tiny waist", he even said so himself in Encylopedia of Bodybuilding that he had a wide waist. Hence him always doing those twisting side poses that he was famous for

It was all relative to his competition , Arnold had a wide waist but it was very thin from the sides and tiny by today's standards
