arnold's chest and rib cavity was unique not seen much since him,his leg's were small but good seperation,ad his delt head's posed were very compete,he was tad slouch shouldered.and his pec's were overpowering but they were thick and full.today's pro's outmuscle him but his build in certain poses's had a different look than today's guy's ,even relaxed his pec's and arms were freaky full.

Those shots latspread of Arnold are from 1975 when he was at his lightest competitive weight and size (other than the 1980 O), soon after losing a lot of bulk to film "Stay Hungry".

The side chest shot is from 1974 when he was a good 20 lbs heavier than his 1975 showing.

even though gunter in obviously bigger and leaner i think arnold still beats him out on certain poses. gunters got him beat on the front lat. i won't take the legs into too much consideration just because legs in gerneral were smaller in arnold's era. i would feel bad if i was gunter, he is being compared to one of the greats. you can see where having a good quad sweep improves the appearence of your waist in these pics. i would say arnold and gunter have similar sized waisted maybe gunter is even bigger but in the front lat spread gunter's looks better but in the twisting shot it looks horrible.

Nice try at making excuses for arnold. He had huge lats that extended all the way down to his waist so don't come with that bullshit. Its the lower body where he gets smoked by G in that pose

Then again, black and white pics always look better then colour in terms of muscle hardness and detail.

Watch Pumping Iron and then watch the BFTO 2002 DVD.  There is no comparison between Gunter and Arnold in size.  A lot of these old Arnold pictures are close up or taken from a low angle.  They aren't as accurate as you might initially think.

The front lat spread of Gunter is also from 2000 and he still beats Arnold.  Today Gunter has also considerably improved in that pose.

True, Gunter is bigger than Arnold ever was since Gunter outweighs Arnold by a good 50 lbs. However, comparing Gunter to Arnold from his pumping iron shape (1975), where he had lost a lot of weight and size for filming reasons, is not exactly a fair comparison.

You'd find Arnold from his 1973/74 shape, although still not weighing anywhere near Gunter, compares much better size wise, as some of the pics in this thread (especially the first one by ND) show.

If you put the two side by side on stage, you'd see it was Gunter who would be doing the embarrassing...Gunter is over 300 pounds at 6'2. Arnold at 6'1 was 240, and not nearly as dry as Gunter.
