The Mr O is NOT about the best physique onstage that day.   it is, by definition, the best representative of the sport of BBing.  

Phil is doing morning TV shows, sporting events, boxing matches, all that.   Jay used to - seems like he's using the "Videotape every waking moment" approach to connect with the most fans and rally the fanbase the best.  Kai?  He USED to be a hermit, hiding out and getting in shape.  NOW?  Now he's doing the same movies, tv shows, interviews, etc - he's learning to do what Phil does.

Haney, Labrada, Levrone, they all USED to use this phrase all of the time in interviews also - a 'dog whistle' of sorts to alert those in the sport that they cared deeply about being the best face for the sport.  

Now, thanks to media, we CAN change the holder of the title each year with the major disruption that used to be a 10-week magazine prep/mailing cycle.  Remember when you had to wait for FLEX to arrive in Dec to see who won the Olympia back in October?  LOL all gone.  The dynasty went away with it.

Today, we have Jay and Phil, the best faces of the sport, both worthy representatives.  And Kai is working hard to join them

What a load of rubbish. That kind of crap was the criterion for the AAU Mr America and never the Olympia. Joe wanted a contest for all the top guys. The best guy should win, period.

Of course, who picks the judges and on what criteria? That is what is important but it is all guarded now and not open to criticism.
