Sweden is in a state of deep denial about immigration.  Multiculturalism is predicated on wishful thinking and is ultimately faith based.  Nothing proves it's beneficial or that it improves a country a all.   Robert Putnam has done research into multiculturalism and despite his best efforts to find evidence to the contrary he found that mulitculturalism causes instability, distrust and the break down of social ties. 

And Putnams finding are based on studies in which the various groups are all natives of the same country.  Now imagine how the problems of multiculturalism are exacerbated by the introduction of a completely foreign non-native groups like Muslims immigrants to Europe.
