Such a charismatic and talented artist.

I would imagine it would be up there in terms of lifetime highlights.

what he s been doing for the last decade is pretty shitty. He s banking on his old fame nowadays in lame tours. But his first albums and of course his genesis era are just a piece of music's History.

I saw Genesis in the early 90's. Wasn't particularly a Genesis fan, but it was one of the best concerts ive been to.

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism.Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist.Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

I'm not putting down his fans. He is a talented artist. Just want to point out he couldn't sell out a 5000 seat venue in the US anymore.

So you enjoyed the album when it came out in 1980, but Genesis' stuff before 1980 you weren't too into. Hmmm, that could make you at least 48-53 years old 'bro'.

Outed for posting suspicious numbers of 'What would you do if these (11 year old minxes) ladies were laying on your bed' threads, at 50 years old, and managing to correctly link pictures while in traffic on the A406 in your non mid-life crises red Mazda MX5 roadster with 'Keep Back Children in the Trunk' sticker on the back window  ;D

Are you saying that masturbation (i'm not the world's best, but I hold my own) is the lesser of two evils, when you consider the number of strange middle age men roaming around north west Essex trying to vent their sexual frustrations on school girls?

I saw him years ago in Venice, Italy.  At St Marks Square.  He was giving a free concert, you simply had to walk to the square and find a place to stand.  There were tables from the nearby restaurants roped off for their customers though but other than that, anyone could attend and it was not a huge area either.  He did a pretty damn good show for it being open air and free.
