Unfortunately we are propping up the clear losers that nature would have long removed from the breeding pool.  Tax payers subsidize mediocrity and stupidity.

Too many people make it a career to never work and pop out babies so they can get a check from the government. The government wants their votes so they keep giving them money.

Didn't O'Reilly get divorced not too long ago because he was a perv and his wife banged the UPS guy or something?

Way to derail O'Reilly's facts with your insecurities. I'm referring to everyone bagging on O'Reilly.

I'm surprised he hasn't already.
Step 1: Go to the Dominican Republic with a vial of Viagra

Step 2: Return back with only pill used

Step 3: Get an operation to lose weight

Step 4: Realize that you and Al Sharpton have something in common (Operation to lose weight)

Step: Condemn people for their lack of discipline

Oh yes there it was, 40 seconds in it's the fathers who abandon children...just no. But even if it's true, even if it's true! Maybe, maybe, give fathers some rights, reproductive rights and rights to their children and also change the alimony and child support laws and then maybe everyone would more happily stick together.

It's true, there has been a decline in the american family.  Many reasons exist for this.  Some might even have a good argument that the old institution of marriage is outdated in the modern world. I've been with my wife for fifteen years.  I'm an in it for the long haul type of guy and despite having opportunities to stray I never have.  Marriage takes commitment, a rare commodity in this day and age of selfish hedonism and do what thou wilt.

If I visit my family it takes me about 15 seconds to go into keep-it-together mode.  Only 95 hrs, 59 mins, and 45 seconds to go.  I love them but hoe lee shit.

Then do you really love them, or you just feel sort-of obligated to pretend like you do? Family I don't like I don't visit. Why would I?

I do but they still grate on me real quick.  That's fairly common, I would think.

Point being there's nothing magical about family where it has to be some enshrined institution and held up as the ultimate barometer of a society's health.  Looking into a wrongdoer's family background is bullshit.  All families are crackers in their own ways.

I'm a little fed up with talk about Family Values, as if my family's values are the same as someone else's.  It's a salesman's phrase that tries to put a noble veneer on someone's agenda.  I'm not much for agendas or salesmen.

Aside: A few years ago all these stickers started appearing on cars.  Did you get these awful things?  It would say My Family and then there'd be cartoon stickers of a dad, mom, however many kids, a cat, a dog, etc.  They were everywhere.  I was so satisfied to see one at last that said "I don't give a fuck who's in your family."

Family values is a political catch phrase.  What is really necessary is family participation.  And what I mean by that is parents need to actively participate in the raising of their children.  Don't depend on the government and the school system to raise the child you brought into this world. Dads shouldn't abandon their kids and both parents need to discipline and encourage their kids academically.

I agree with tapeworm to an extent.   I don't feel obligated to talk to family members I don't have a good relationship with.

An SUV full of the most sullen fuckers you'd ever want to pass.  The wife just told the kids there is no Santa and dad always looks straight out of Synchronicity II.
