Dude is full of himself. I guess thats what happens when you're a god among impressionable newbs.

His book is good for beginners. Thats about it. 5x5 has been around way before Rippetoe branded it.

I've been lifting for most of my long life and I still feel like a beginner....not that I would admit it to anyone at the gym where I work out and hopefully, it does not show.

He's a loud mouth fagget who thinks too highly of himself. Claims he knows whats good for American Weightlifting. Remarks how our coaches are doing it wrong and how he has the answers. Yet of course he has never once produced a national level weightlifter.

All talk. All ego. All bullshit.

No, you're missing the point. I might not agree with everything he says but that doesn't take away from the fact he more than likely has more knowledge about training than anyone on this SITE that is criticizing him.

I'll train circles around that pompous ass and I make him look like dogshit.

Starting strength turned me into a bottom-heavy permabulker.  Wasted some of my best years looking like shit.

Fuck that book, and fuck rippetoe.  Who cares about adding "weight" except for an offensive lineman?

"Let's say you put on 40 or 50 pounds in six months. That's going to have a huge impact on how you look and how strong you are.

But let's say you do the 'gotta keep my razor sharp abs' horseshit. You'll be lucky if you gain eight or nine pounds. What do you think is going to have more effect on how you look? 50 pounds, 30 of it muscle, or 8 pounds?

You can make anything sound good by using ridiculous examples.

Wtf is he on about. To add 8 clean pounds would be better.

If he gained 50 pounds, why would it be only 20 pounds of fat? It would more likely be 50/50 fat and muscle. And it would look worse either way because he has fat covering it! And dieting down to those sharp abs would have him at 8 pounds again or less lol

Sounds like a recipe for guys to add 60 pounds in a year, 12 of them muscle, then walk around with ils in the clubs while the women ignore them for the 150 pound twink with abs.

Amen

So can I, but I'm talking about training knowledge, programming, etc. Not whether someone can train circles around him.

Anyone who's not a total genetic failure can reach riptards level 405 bench, 600 squat and dead in single ply gear using lots of aas with basic linear progression and a basic three day split in a couple of years at most.

The amazing thing is he "programs" kids to lift pitiful weights while looking like they have klenfelters from all the milk induced estrogen fat deposition.

The 'programming' he's famous for is your standard add more weight to the bar until you stall approach.

There's nothing special about Rip or his methods. The guy is not churning out elite lifters left and right. He caters to beginners.

true true true!!!

i forgot all about this!!!!!!!!!! this fatass thinks he knows about weightlifting when he doesnt know SHIT

HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT THERE IS NO REASON FOR WEIGHTLIFTERS TO DO OLYMPIC SQUATS

HE ACTUALLY SAID THEY SHOULD DO LOW BAR PARALLEL SQUATS (and front squats) BECAUSE ITS MORE SIMILAR TO THE FIRST PULL

OH GOD WHERE DO I BEGIN WHAT A CLUELES HELPLESS SOB. DOESNT HE KNOW THE FIRST PULL IS THE EASIEST PART EVER OF WEIGHTLIFTING

DOESNT HE KNOW THE VALUE OF OLYMPIC SQUATS

fucking guy is an I_M_B_E_C_I_L_E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he did an interview with shane hamman where he tried to put words in shane's mouth of how "brute strength" is all you need to be a top lifter

the dumb prick doesnt have a clue, and in fact shane is the perfect example that "brute manly milk strength" isnt the only factor in weightlifting

BUT THEN AGAIN THIS FAT ASSHOLE HAS NEVER EVEN TRAINED SERIOUSLY IN WEIGHTLIFTING SO WHAT DOES HE FUCKING KNOW

Natural means just that. People kid themselves into believing otherwise. Sometimes natural isn't the healthiest way to be. I believe being on TRT has improved my health both mentally and physically. I am not going to say it is natural though. Natural was the good old days when my testis and pituitary glad keep my test levels on par.
