You realize you're replying to a post that's 5 years old, right? I don't think he's going to answer your question.

Who do you think makes up the top 5?

Not necessarily in this order, but here are 4:

Ronnie Coleman
Marko Savolainen
Eddie Moyzan
Eddie Robinson

Still trying to come up with # 5

Bertil Fox
Franco Columbu
Casey Viator
Kevin Levrone
Tom Platz
Ronnie Coleman
Eddie Robbinson
Vic Richards

Has anyone ever witnessed Vic Richards lift anything to confirm this?

arnold

he was at one time called arnold strong and competed in power lifting

For a short time he was billed as Arnold “Strong” because Joe figured it’d be easier for audiences than his real surname. He had big muscles. Easy choice.

The Oak was obviously strong, but in comparison to a great many other high-level bodybuilders, his wasn’t particularly impressive.

Larry "Wheels" Williams.  Seriously, he could be the next Ronnie Coleman.  Is there anything this guy can't do?  He's only 23 and has insane powerlifting and bodybuilding potential.

His strength is insane.  405 for 20 on a flat bench (sleeves and didn't lock each rep out, but still...), 500*5 incline, a few reps with 225 dumbbells on an incline bench (?!
WTF?!), 405 ohp, pulling and squatting close to or over 800...and the kid isn't really all that heavy, particularly for his height.

But before I give the impression I want his protein from the tap and all, I don't predict great things for him in bodybuilding.  He has a great build, but his arms are severely lagging.  Once someone is benching his kind of numbers, I just don't see what he can do to bring his triceps up dramatically through drugs and training, at least without tons of bullshit site injections and going all Philinsulin with buffets of slin and gH, which could easily ruin his lines.

I hope I'm wrong, though, and wish him luck.

I'm not sure that I recall this correctly, but I don't think Joe Weider had anything to do with renaming Arnold as "Arnold Strong".

If I recall correctly (and there is a strong possibiliy that I ain't!) .... it was the people behind the filming of Arnold's original acting role in 'Hercules in New York' (1970) ...(I drove him to that one man audition) in 1969 which starred a very skinny Arnold Stang.

And Arnold's character in that film was named Arnold Strong according to the Internet Movie Data Base.

So that may be where this 'Strong' conclusion error lies!

You all know Arnold S.   ... so here is Arnold S.

Sergio Oliva could clean and jerk 400lbs at 19 years old at 198lbs. If he continued in Olympic lifting what could he have done? I don't think there is one top ten Olympia contestant today that could clean and jerk 315lbs.

Gary was also a prison officer and from what I hear a very fair and decent man.

Calling BS on that if you are referring to a clean and jerk.

Formidably strong bodybuilder especially since back then they could actually do those lifts athletically. What happened ..

yet Sergio was known for his volume training , not for heavy lifting
