the '99 O was great, but only for the top 3. I thought that was one of flex's top 3 showings (93 Arnold, 98 Arnold, and 99 O... maybe the '97 Ironman as well)... but everybody else seemed 'off'. Nasser was watery, levrone looked like he trained for a month... ran was on the downhill slide, ect...

95, 96, 97, everybody was lean and dry and full and grainy.. for the most part anyways. maybe i'm partial because those are the years I really started to learn about what it took to achieve that condition (i.e. drugs). Nasser gave dorian a run for his money size-wise, and from the front. and back then it was still a mystery who was in-shape and how somebody was gonna show up at the show, plus we had to wait for a month or 2 until we found out the results from the magazines. we didn't have constant internet updates and pics of guys leading up to the show or live webcasts of the contest. there seemed to be more build-up.
