at least on this one pose......

This was back when Levrone was squatting & deadlifting like a powerlifter. Levrone is standing next to Yates, at his best, and Levrone looks good. Especially considering that Yates was known for his back shots.

franco columbu that's all and 1 win was his worst showing 81,gaspari 2nd 86/87/88 beast then.kev leverone 3/4 2nd places.franco ur thinking of santoriello never mr o won national title and never did well in pro's had sick build...

This is before Levrone (and everyone) gained 20+ pounds of bodyweight to compete with Yates. Imo, a 250+ Levrone was so much more dominating than a 230-240 pound Levrone.

eh... he never brought that level of conditioning heavier, so its a moot point.

you either got small and shredded levrone, or huge and not so shredded. If he could have ever brought them together he may have been a threat to yates, but he didnt/couldnt.

Labrada was looking fucking awesome like he always did!

I've heard/read a lot that photos of Dorian didn't do him justice - that he looked really different in the flesh. I have no idea though - maybe someone who's actually seen him in Olympia shape can comment. In this photo it certainly looks like Levrone is every bit as good.

I think this was his best shape ever after this contest, he never got his condition right again and his physique become unbalanced and his legs became a real weakness in comparison to his larger less conditioned upper body.

Not sure if you're serious about Dorian, since his fans claim this a lot here, and get ragged on for it.

I can say it's true. The photos don't capture the size or 3d effect yates has - from the front his legs can look skinny/2d, when in reality they were huge....He dwarfed so many guys on stage.

I totally agree seeing him in person in shape, he was a step up from everyone including an Olympia winning Coleman, his all round conditioning was insane.

I never got to see him in contest shape but when I first joined Temple Gym in late 1996 I saw Dorian at 300lbs - it was his last competitive year before he defended the 1997 Olympia and subsequently retired. He was in the gym training his son Lewis at the time who was only still a relatively young boy back then (maybe early teens), just messing around with a few machines as it was offseason. Dorian was unreal - wearing the biggest t-shirt I had ever seen a human being wear at that point in my life. I've seen bigger bodybuilders since at Expos and the like, but you never forget the first time you see a pro in the flesh so to speak (no homo).
