I don't know man, the tea party is just 'crazy', I mean all they want is smaller government, less spending waste, and not have their lives controlled by washington dc , I mean how EXTREME is that?? Real 'lunatics' these people...

The author is dead on correct that the mushy, principle-less politicians are the ones to blame. They have kept running things in a "normal" fashion, or so they say. The problem is that the "normal" fashion has led us to this point. No problem solving ability, no solutions, no ideas, no guts, no truth, the death of the middle class and the rise of the corpratocracy. I would go as far as to say it's fascism with voting ballots.


 The Tea Party miscalculated and probably cost the GOP taking the Senate in 2014 but they did show that they can stand as one. And that is important.

The tea party is the only sensible group...the lib media can't mention them without using the words 'extreme' and 'radical'..'hardline conservatives'...when did you ever hear them describe obama as a 'hardline liberal'??  The truth is is that obama and hia party are the true 'radicals' and 'extremists'. He is the furthest left wing president ever by far but he is NEVER described as such.

The tea party is the voice of reason and stands for the ideals and principles america was founded on. Obama stands for ultra liberalism/socialism.

They shutdown the government to defund a law they had no chance of defunding costing 26billion to the taxpayer and a significant hit to the economy. Not to mention the world is laughing at the US after this fiasco. I think what they did was pretty extreme. I also think you aren't being intellectually honest  stating that taxes is their only issue. They want no minimum wage, no EPA, no regulations, gut social security. These have been talking points by many of the "tea party " members.

The statement is hyperbole, but make no mistake they attempted something patently impossible and didn't care who had to suffer to make a point, which in the end hurt their image. Fucking brilliant.

Meh...still too disparate in my opinion and lacking the fundamental infrastructure.  But, as a generally populist movement, probably not going anywhere soon.
