haha yeah the strong stoic type.

I'm not crazy about the "Brown Pride" bullshit, but the dude is a f'n machine. I don't see anyone beating him for a while. I like Junior, but I think that KO was a fluke.

JDS is such a nice guy. Always class. Too bad he's brazilian.  :D

Good stuff but we'll see.
Yeah, JDS is nice enough but he seems a bit simple.  His approach to fighting is a bit one dimensional too.  In my mind, he hasn't accepted the beating he received by Cain, he didn't give Cain the respect he deserved after the win, using excuses like poor health for the loss.  Because of that, I don't think he has made the required changes to beat someone like Cain.  I predict an instant replay of the second fight with perhaps a submission finish.

I also think it was an early stoppage, he didn't actually KO Cain, I think because it was the first televised fight on FOX, the UFC were worried about the publics reaction if they witnessed too much brutality, so they erred on the side of caution when it came to stoppages.

Could JDS actually improve on his cardio enough to keep up with Cain?  I don't think so either but seems like that should have been worked on in this camp.  Cabins striking is average and his chin questionable.  I want JDS to win.

More exciting a fighter

Astute observation. The drive to take ones skills to the next level comes from admitting one was beaten by a superior opponent.... many times if you think you beat yourself, youre just going to try and come in with the same skillset but not make mistakes, which really doesnt make you any better a fighter.

Yeah, wasn't too far off with that one either, my earlier prediction "Daniel Cormier to beat up Roy Nelson, Nelson will just absorb punishment while gassing and looking for a massive overhand haymaker, Cormier for the win by decision. I actually want Nelson to win, I just don't think he has the cardio to match Cormier, also Cormiers wrestling is just too good."

Cain to reproduce another punishing 5 round beating on a one dimensional DOS Santos.(possibly a submission in 3rd to 4th rd)
Daniel Cormier to beat up Roy Nelson, Nelson will just absorb punishment while gassing and looking for a massive overhand haymaker, Cormier for the win by decision.  I actually want Nelson to win, I just don't think he has the cardio to match Cormier, also Cormiers wrestling is just too good.
Melendez vs Sanchez should be a barn burner, Melendez to win by decision after intense back and forward battle.
Dodson to win on points, just to athletic
Gonzaga to KO Jordan, but could easily be the other way around
George Sotiropoulos win by submission, neither fighter can afford to lose, both fighters had respectable win streaks before falling in a slump.
Boetsch to KO Dolloway
Lombard to KO Marquadt
Don't care about the women fights or the prelims.

Cain Velasquez def Junior dos Santos TKO (Round 5, 3:09)
Daniel Cormier def. Roy Nelson, Unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gilbert Melendez def. Diego Sanchez, Unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Gabriel Gonzaga def. Shawn Jordan, Knockout (Round 1, 1:33)
John Dodson def. Darrell Montague, Knockout (Round 1, 4:13)
Tim Boetsch def. CB Dollaway, Split-decision (30-26, 27-29, 30-26)
Hector Lombard def. Nate Marquardt, TKO (Round 1, 1:48)
KJ Noons def. Geroge Sotiropoulos, Unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Called them all except George Sotiropoulos, and I only chose him because I am an Aussie, I knew they were evenly matched, but George has been in a slump, and I heard he got his ass knocked out by a B Grade Trainer behind the scenes on the Australian Ultimate Fighter.

I wish there was a high def streaming website to watch the ufc fights for free.   I go to the sportlemon website, but it's all low def streaming for UFC fights.  :(

Took this shot of Cain about 2 hours before he went in the cage last night. He's a warhorse, just won't stop.

Who is the down syndrome lad standing next to Cain.  Oh! Wait a minute, is that Dos Santos, looks like he just had the absolute crap beat out of him.   :o
