Happening now on SpikeTV Mr Olympia @PHILHEATH joins the BroMans! Which team is moving on to fight for the tag titles at #BoundForGlory?
Three-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath is set to cross over to the professional wrestling world at the TNA Wrestling Bound for Glory pay-per-view on October 19. This event, emanating from the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California, is TNA's biggest annual show. It is the promotion's version of Wrestlemania, albeit at a smaller scale. This won't be the first time that a Mr. Olympia appears on a pro wrestling broadcast. In 1999, seven-time Mr. O champion Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared on WWE Smackdown. He interfered in the main event of the night and then laid some Smackdown of his own on then-WWE champion Triple H.
Bodybuilding and pro wrestling have always had crossover appeal and related fanbases. Many pro wrestlers began as bodybuilders, such as three-time Mr. USA Tony Atlas, while others used bodybuilding to develop their larger-than-life physiques, such as Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and the aforementioned Triple H. Heath will be participating in a posedown with TNA wrestlers Robbie E and Jesse in what is being dubbed the "Bro Off." These two wrestlers work as a tag team called the "Bro Mans" and Heath has been given the name "Big Bro" for the event. This will surely be an entertaining segment and the pro wrestling audience will get to witness one of the greatest Olympia champions in history pose-off, or in this case "Bro Off," inside the squared circle.
