the media - both left and right - loves emotional stories that elicit love, hate, fear, excitement, etc.
In 2012... If Obama was boring and Palin could complete a sentence, they would have been on her jock.
I guess the problem is that dem candidates are more seen as young, vibrant, druggies, hollywood, etc...
While the repub candidates are more like moneybags from Monopoly. Not always accurate, but overall.
the media, left and right, go where the $ is. And $ comes from ratings. And ratings come from strong emotional responses.
Believe me... if the repubs discovered a 2016 obama - young, handsome, sinking 3 pointers, amazing at giving speeches, a lot of the "left" media would splinter and worship this candidate. But the best the GOP has done in 10 years was dishwashing paul ryan or ignorant-ass sarah palin.
DO BETTER, Republicans! Cruz is smart, but he's not handsome, not amazing at speeches.
Rubio is easier on the eyes, but pisses himself at any chance to let ten million illegals in.
Repubs are too busy hatin' on obama to realize - he WAS a perfect candidate in 2008... a unique combination of things taht only comes along once in a generation. Maybe clinton before him, MAYBE, but probably reagan was the last time a hollywood looking dude with amazing speaking and fresh ideas emerged. Yes, obama was full of shite and a total fraud, but we're talking about GETTING elected.
Pick a Huntsmann/Thune combo... get them on TV. get them shooting jumpers or acting in touch with people at bowling alleys or wherever. Don't stand in soup kitchens, don't ask a bunch of urban kids "who let the dogs out"... sheesh...
that's the problem... GOP needs a better candidate to sell. Media would be all over it.. They would have loved obama vs obama in 2008... instead it was obama vs grandpa mccain and his hapless VPILF. Come on repubs, look deeper, demand a candidate with EVERYTHING!
