I see the new hats as more streamlined and efficient.  

I've always thought the original hats are very bulky and unnecessarily wide.  The new hats provide the same level of sun protection for the face but aren't so cumbersome on the sides.  Not even counting storage, transport, etc.

Amos....he's an airwinger..no combat action ribbon. He is not well liked and has pissed alot of mid and senior level Marines off by allowing the admin to walk all over the Corps. I suspect that when he came out against gays he got frog stomped and then decided to lay down like Dempsey did. Basically nobody is happy with our senior leadership. I like Gen O but he really hasn't done much for the Army in that job. I think he's tired and ready to retire.
