Serious question: why this?
Exclusivity...
Different outfits like to keep the IFBB pros (both current and former) to themselves as a way to attract both members, but most importantly
SPONSORS.
If you're a supplement company and notice that there is a conglomeration of IFBB pros, both former and current, posting within a certain forum, what does that tell you? It tells you that there is also most likely a rather large following of fans aggregating there as well and the more fans (or consumers) present can typically translate into a lot of money, if those fans were to purchase your products by way of advertisements.
So, what happens? MD hires as many former and current pros as it can, which in turn amasses a large following of noobies to the sport that are eager to read what IFBB pros have to say in the hopes of getting "big". The supplement companies notice this and then start to "sponsor" MD by way of advertisements (i.e. ads). These ads placed on their site cost money (i.e. rent). MD garners the fees from these companies who chose to advertise on their forum and in turn generate more revenue to further hire more pros and/or expand.
It makes sense. The major issue is that while under contract, the IFBB pros have to adhere to certain rules and regulations (i.e. restrictions and exclusivity clauses), which limit when and where they can post, among other things.
