He was born somewhere between 1930-1940, but I have no idea exactly where.

i think beckles was in his 50,s back in the mid 80,s,i heard that from a pro bodybuilder that trained in the same gym as him back then,hes gotta be pushing 70 now imo.great build imo,he looked like he was carved outta stone

Beckles birth has alwyas been an issue of contention. I think there was some discrpancy between his passport and birth record; one had his birthdate as 1930 the other as 1938. Al chose to go with 1930, though i believe it is generally accepted that it was 1938 his real d.o.b putting al at the ripe old age of 67 now or 75 if you believe it was 1930.

I remember seeing him on a cover of Flex (late 80's- early 90's possibly) holding a pool cue .  He looked unbelievable!! They were trying to figure his correct age then. I think they said mid-50's then.

albert beckles won that tournament at the ripe old age of 60.

this was in 1991 .. therefore beckles is 74 or 75.

Maybe 3 weeks ago I spotted him pressing 130lb dumbells on the flat bench.  He stays covered up all the time but looks great.  His face looks young.  He is a nice guy and has given me free advise and help with posing when I was getting ready for the 05 USA.

  Oh, ok. I generally get the ages of bodybuilder pretty accurately, but Beckles is not that relevant anymore, so I wouldn't know.

asshole... i got the old copy of flex right here where all these s'hitty pros are givin gushin praise about albert beckles winnin the toronto pro at the age of 60 in 91!

andreas cahling is particularly nauseatin in his praise.. prolly didnt write it himself. ;)

beckles is 74 at least

Beckles trains hard every day with a couple training partners that are in their early 40's and holds his own. The guy is pretty amazing.

He was supposedly 46 in 1982. that would make him a lot older than in his fifties. He competed in the Mr. Universe in the 1960's when he was 12 years old.  For a guy who claims to be so smart you sure are dumb. What can anyone expect from a guy who believes a man 6'2" was 440 pounds in muscular shape. Oh yeah, and that guy benched 705 for a triple just because a magazine said so. ::)

So much for the "steroids are bad for you" theory. haha  Maybe when he's 90, he'll be throwing up the 150's, if he cycles right.  Good luck on that.

Albert was in good shape at LT's NPC Junior California when I saw him. He was at the Dream Tan booth, showing off his new T-shirts, and still trains almost every day. The man has a great sense of humor, and when I did ask him about his age, he seemed sort of amused that the same question keeps coming up, and said what does it matter...
