I doubt this will effect bodybuilding if it is true. Did comedy suffer when Phil Hartman's wife committed murder/suicide?

I seriously doubt this rumor is true or there would be something out there on this already. Perhaps this is just a way to keep the names out there. Bad publicity is better than no publicity.

(KVVU) -- Police say a body was found in the trunk of a burning car early this morning.

Authorities say a trucker traveling on State Route 160 (Blue Diamond Road) from Pahrump to Las Vegas around 5 a.m. this morning spotted a fire in the desert. When firefighters extinguished the blaze, they discovered human remains in the trunk of the car.

The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or 229-3521.

Body found in another burned car

Police look at Route 160 incident, earlier one

Homicide detectives on Wednesday found a body in the trunk of a burning car and are investigating whether the death is connected to a similar discovery earlier this week.

A trucker traveling state Route 160 from Pahrump to Las Vegas at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday spotted a fire about a half mile from the road, said Las Vegas police Lt. Tom Monahan.

The trucker traced the fire to a vehicle on nearby Sandy Valley Road and summoned firefighters to the scene.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters noticed possible human remains inside the trunk of the 2003 Jaguar and called police.

The body was transported to the Clark County coroner's office for an autopsy, Monahan said, but had been burned beyond recognition.

Investigators did gather one key clue that jump-started their probe.

"There was a license plate, a Nevada plate" at the scene, Monahan said.

Authorities have contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and determined it had not been reported stolen, Monahan said.

"We know that the registered owner did not give the car to somebody," Monahan said, declining to identify the car's owner.

It was unclear Wednesday whether there was any type of relationship between the car's owner and the victim, since the victim's identity was unknown.

"We have no suspects and no one is under arrest," Monahan said.

The discovery is similar to another Monday night near Gypsum Plant, about five miles east of the intersection of Lake Mead and Hollywood boulevards. In that incident, homicide detectives inspected a torched Toyota with a dead passenger inside.

Once again, the license plate was preserved, but investigators have not been able to locate the registered owner or determine whether the owner is actually the victim, Monahan said.

"We have not seen any suggestion that they're (the two incidents) related," Monahan said. "But good common sense requires that we consider that possibility.

Monahan offered a possible theory for the car fires, saying, "We've had circumstances where somebody might hear about new ways to destroy evidence or commit a murder, and somebody may copy it."

The investigation into the deaths could be slowed if coroner officials are unable to identify the bodies through conventional means.

Dental records, for example, can be used to identify badly burned bodies, but the process often takes weeks.

Burned corpses pose mystery for police

While police investigate three burned bodies found within a week's span at locations around the Las Vegas Valley, one of them has been identified as a Las Vegas woman.

Ivonne M. Chacon, 52, died of strangulation, a Clark County coroner's official said Monday.

Chacon was found in the back of a torched Toyota early Dec. 13 near a gypsum plant, about five miles east of the intersection of Lake Mead and Hollywood boulevards.

On Wednesday, homicide detectives found a body in the trunk of a burning car on Sandy Valley Road, west of the valley, about a half mile off state Route 160. The burning vehicle was reported after 4:40 a.m. Wednesday by a trucker traveling from Pahrump.

That body found inside the trunk of a 2003 Jaguar with a Nevada license plate was burned beyond recognition, police have said.

North Las Vegas police are investigating the body of a man found about 2:40 p.m. Sunday in the desert about two miles from the Las Vegas Beltway and Losee Road at the north end of the valley.

The body, found by a passer-by, had been burned, said Las Vegas police Lt. Tom Monahan, who said his department has been in contact with North Las Vegas police to investigate any possible connections between the cases.

"At this point in our investigation, we have found no linkage whatsoever," Monahan said, referring to the two deaths that were discovered Dec. 13 and Wednesday.

Monahan said his detectives think they have identified the person found off state Route 160, but the coroner's office did not make the name available on Monday.

"Everybody is saying, 'That's weird.' We agree," Monahan said of the discoveries. "But through all of our investigation, we don't see anything. We're digging hard to find something. We're not finding a connection."

Monahan said the burned bodies could be a coincidence and hopes that a growing number of criminals are not trying to burn bodies as a means to destroy evidence.

A North Las Vegas police spokesman, Tim Bedwell, said his department is awaiting an autopsy before commenting on the condition of the body found on his turf.

"At this point, we don't see a connection with any of the others," Bedwell said about the man's body that was found Sunday.

"We suspect foul play, and we're treating this as a homicide, but we don't know the cause of death. The condition of the body is such that we need to wait for the coroner," Bedwell said.

I was just informed that Allegedly (my word), the Tituses have been held since Saturday in the Las Vegas jail because the body was discovered in their vehicle. Not sure if this means that they were actually arrested. However, I thought a person could only be held for questioning for so many hours so perhaps an arrest was made.

Well, these threads have been going for three days, and it's very telling that in that time not one person, either here or on the other board, has come on and said something to the effect of "I talked to Craig or Kelly and this is total BS".

There obviously must be some degree of truth to these rumors, and most here are just waiting to get all the juicy details.

By acounts, he's now 195 lbs. and looks nothing like a bodybuilder.  He was one of the 5 people at Demilia's Chicago disaster and word of his condition got out fast.
