Jay tore his bicep again
« on: October 30, 2013, 08:55:49 PM »
MRI and Jay have confirmed that he now has a tear in his right bicep. I noticed his right arm is looking a lot smaller lately, and he confirmed this is why. First Ronnie, now Jay. I thought Jay would have less injuries bc he trained smarter?

little bit too much ego on the lift and boom.

this is not a healthy sport, this is vanity galore and ppl would eat diarhea if it made them look better in exchange

My buddy tore his when he decided to do his first set with 135.  Warm up is key!

How? He doesn't train hard or heavy enough to break a sweat let alone tear a bicep. But I have a theory.

training with heavy weights rep after rep is completely unnatural to begin with, then add the rest that bodybuilders do to themselves day in and day out

Strength training is an abuse of survival mechanisms in the body, that put tremendous taxation, just because the body can handle it doesn't mean it's good or natural.

The joke was that his training revolves around mostly machines and pretty light weight

Him tearing something is a bit intriguing

Now Ronnie and Dorian I can understand

Hell even branch and his style of training u would think he would tear something but most of his injuries involve falling down stairs and slipping on ice

true, all the way true.

but with deskjobs it's good to get moving and the gym is much less injury ridden than ballsports and running is also completely unnatural and abuse of survival mechanisms

imagine in what scenario the body would have to run for hours several times a week?

walking is the schizznit though

This is very upsetting to me.  I had hoped Jay would compete again in 2014.

His right arm was looking weird 8 weeks before that show (and before he pumped it full of junk again the final few weeks).

tearing anything is pretty easy after 15years of training. most bicep tears happen with deadlifts, in what I've seen or known ppl who've torn them.... triceps getting torn during back movements as well.. levrone tearing his long head with lat pulldowns...... deadlifting 520 for a triple the other day had my tricep pulling a little, then 630 for a triple I was afraid I was gonna pull my tricep off my shoulder (was dehydrated as well).

guys tearing calves stepping out of their truck... guys tearing quads stepping in a pot-hole, ect...

Probably my biggest fear in the gym. I had a partial tear years ago and it still bothers me with certain exercises, grips and angles.

The bottom of preachers put a lot of stress on the distal tendon. I would avoid full rom.

That's a possibility. Scar tissue is prone to tearing.

Is there a pciture? usually your arm will turn all black and blue. I don;t think I have ever tore a bicep but I have felt close to it but never did my bicep turn black and blue,or does it just look all fucked up sometimes and not turn black and blue. All the tears I have seen the muscle has turned black and blue but then you see older guys or guys who have been lifting along time and they look like they have tore some muscles but they always claim they havn't. Is it just age that might cause your arms to appear like you have tore a bicep at some point? Take gaspari for example.
