Good points OneMoreRep
anyone who was watching the fight and not GSP's ass could see this.
Let me be clear, I have always been a fan of GSP, but he has not brought a fight to the octagon since his early days.
He knows how to make the points needed to win the fight. I know, because I see him training at Renzo's academy for at least a month prior to a fight and the same striking & jiujitsu coaches (Phil Nurse & Danaher) he trains with are the same guys we see year round training other pros and they are tactical in that they teach you not just the mechanics behind the game, but also how to score points.
There is clearly more than one way to win a fight (pure knockout vs decision vs stoppage), but in this case, I find that George stuck to the usual garnering of points approach, coupled with the fact that you have judges that are not qualified to judge an MMA fight because (
A) they are not former/current MMA fighters or coaches able to discern the effectiveness of strikes and takedowns and (
B) they apply the 10-point scoring system used in boxing to MMA (see below).

There is more than can be said regarding the judging and even referee choice, but this is yet another one of GSP's fights that people will soon glaze over and remember his performance as being boring.
