Do you have a mullet?

Do you fail to see the humor in East Bound and Down?

It's humiliating to drive that car.  Looks dynamite, but its wimpy engine can be beaten off the line by several econoboxes.  Probably among the last cars one would want for the weekend, unless appearance only is your game.

when I bought it back in 2009  :-\

For $35k you can get a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo with 50k miles...Prowler...ROFL what an utterly horrendous pile of smashed assholes..You must be trolling.

we must be looking in the same area.. I found quite a few 911 turbo's from 01-03 for 30-40k with roughly 50k miles.. some 60k. hell, I even found an '01 for 45k with a bunch of Techart goodies (body, turbos, ect..) with less than 35k miles. white on red... sexy as hell.

I like the 348.. sounds great with a tubi exhaust. I've been talked out of buying one a couple times. ("dude, you're a fucking idiot.. expect to spend $8k/year in maintenance" ect...) but shit, I don't wanna shift anymore. pushing a clutch with asscheeks full of oil sucks... the 355 isn't that much more than the 348 nowdays (also sounds great with tubi exhaust  ;D ) and has paddle shifters, but i'm weary of the tranny/electronic shifting reliability (and spending $8k/year in maintenance. lol).

I think a good 355--that has has been well maintained and has had the exhaust manifold replaced, and I think the rings were made of inferior metal up until '99, is around 80k? The 355 was made specifically to rectify the 348's existence. Luca Montezemolo, the head of Ferrari had said that the 348 was the Ferrari that should be forgotten (beaten by the NSX and the GMC Syclone) and that it was an embarrassment to the Ferrari name.
the 355 was the last of the wedge shaped Ferrari's, but the start of the Rennaisance of the small displacement V8 Ferrari packing a shit ton of hp (but low torque)...plus it has it's own distictive looks, unlike the 348 which apes the 512 TR...

i'd say that for the 90s, the 355 and the 993 911 Turbo were THE SHIT.

BTW, I'd say that the 355 sounds the best out of all the V8 Ferraris, past and present.

and not the Ferrari Mondial? lol.. i'm embarrassed to say that back in '01 I almost bought one for around $20-25k.... just so I could say I had a Ferrari. lol... thank gawd nobody had to talk me out of that purchase, as I came to my senses on my own.

having raced porsches for years, I've never been a fan of their sound.. whether it's stock/aftermarket/race exhausts, in the back of my mind, I was always thinking 'volkswagon' lol

It was this article that did it.
http://sportmachines.com/wiki/Car+and+Driver+Sept+1991

the Mondail while bad, wasn't humiliated by a American truck or by a Honda...
I liked the old skool Porsches and their raspy engine note...it's different than say an American V8, and i also like the sound of I6s---from Japan and Germany, and the one that started the whole sports sedan, the Jaguar Mark II.

ive been out of that market for a couple years, but id guess in the 60's... maybe low 50's, depending on miles and maintenance records.

personally, I wouldn't pick one up unless you already had a 'weekend' car. I absolutely love Ferrari's, but for 60k I can pick up a GT-R that's freakin trouble-free and reliable (with more 'driver amenities')... and you won't spend 10% of the value of the car in maintenance every year while only driving it 6k miles.

my 'car priorities' go 1- big german/Japanese lux sedan for me (safety), 2- medium german/Japanese lux sedan for her (safety), 3- big suv for both (kids.. crossfit/work equipment), 4-low cost of ownership 'sports' car.. NSX, 911, GT-R, ect..., 5- sports car just to say I own it... Ferrari 355 coupe, red, with tubi exhaust.. preferably a stripped down Challenge Model with a solid engine/tranny. ;D

Probably should ask where you can find a good one. Exhaust manifolds crack, and some other stuff, like inferior metals used for some internals.

This could have been such a fun car, but Plymouth hobbled it with a weak 214hp. 400hp would have made this thing scream, but instead a fucking Dodge Neon SRT will walk all over it. Sad.

^^ Also, it's a shame for crash standards Chrysler had to install that funky dual front bumper, ruin's the lines of the car.
