The moronic statements from both sides of the debate are astounding.

"A 3 degree temperature won't change anything." Yes...it will. Greatly.
Republicans and conservatives in general make up most if not all of the dying demographic and decreasing institutional participation.....older whites, the church, rural populations, and the military. Conservatism is nothing more than a wall......throw stuff against it and eventually it will fall. Progressivism ALWAYS defeats conservatism.
Then, we have our $120 an hour Canadian Physicist telling the rest of us proles how to go about in living our lives from his insulated Ivory Tower surrounded by a ring of armed guards. Wonder how much impact on the environment his big ass house and European sedans has. It is people of his ilk and means that spread the misinformation of how the Republicans are only in it for the wealthy........how can that possibly be, when it is liberals and Democrats that make up the great MAJORITY of the 1%? And vast swathes of people actually believe Democrats are there for the "little guy." The Repubs/Tea Partiers/Conservatives/Libertarians may be many things, but they nowhere approach the sick evil the Progressive Left spews out.
The debate seems to circle around whether our climate is warming(the general consensus says it is) and whether it is man-made. Meanwhile, vast tracts of rain forests are being clearcut, oceans are being overfished, fresh water supplies are being depleted and polluted, air quality in many areas is atrocious, soil erosion is increasing, strip mining, and a host of other human activities that threaten habitats.
