Half of that movie is great. The second half goes down hill.
I had 6 months of basic 27 years ago for my outfit. Never got hit by an instructor. They would put you in the ring or ground fighting with another boot to kick the shit out of you. The lack of sleep really sucked. Getting woken up when you were looking forward to 4 hours of sleep was terrible. It seemed every three weeks they would add a layer of academic or physical work to the pile of crap. It was always school, pt, marching, swimming, shooting, boxing, ground fighting, polishing, cleaning and running everywhere. We had one instructor who said if any of you are thinking of killing yourself the train tracks are over there. At the end 50% were washed out from injuries or quitting. We were four to a room and one time we came back from class and found all our stuff was thrown out the window of the second floor. In PT they never said everyone down and do 50 push ups. It was always for time. It was always do push ups for 15 plus minutes as the instructor screams at you to rest in the upright position and we would pray for it to end not knowing when he would call us to our feet. Do mountain climbers and they would never give you a clue when it would end. Everything would start off great and after couple of minutes things disintegrated. At the end we all looked like we were prisoners of war looking like skinny sunken faced broken down guys.
